December 2010 Romans 8:32 - If God did not spare even His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, won't He surely then give us everything else we need. I love this season of the year....Christmas. It is my favorite time. The lights....the timeless carols being played all over....even in the malls....the whole world seems to be caught up in the awe of the season. The sad thing is that many don't seem to be excited about the reason we are celebrating ....some children don't have a clue ....they are told soooooooooooooooo much about Santa. So that is pretty much what it's all about to them. But as Christians....we know where the focus should be....on that precious baby boy born in Bethlehem long ago and laid in a manger....God's greatest gift to this world....His only Son. Oh such Love! Let's not forget that "Jesus is the reason for the Season"....I am happy that I was able to co-write a song using that title....I have reminded folk for several years now of this truth. It's on my Christmas CD (click here). What a extremely busy month of December I experienced. Wow! Christmas banquets galore .... beginning in Lancaster, California (the high desert) .... on to Palm Springs .... Desert Hot Springs .... speaking and singing about the meaning of Christmas .... Remember, if it is not about Christ, it is meaningless. I love this verse Paul wrote. II Corinthians 9:15 - Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
I've spoken frequently though the years about my ministry with Stonecroft....an organization of women's meetings held around the world each month. Ladies are encouraged to bring their friends and family to hear a speaker, a testimony, good music, and a message. They are given an opportunity to be touched and changed by God....and many come to know Jesus in a personal way. A very unique ministry! I have now been a part of Stonecroft for 8 years....and I am thankful that God uses me to proclaim the "Good News." I Timothy 2:3-4 - Fot this is good and acceptable in the sight of god our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. It may be hard for you to believe .... that I do not have computer internet.... so I go to the Senior Center (where they have many). There I can get and send e-mails. Feel free to send them....in fact, I love to receive them....here is the problem, I only go to the Senior Center once a week....so if you are asking me something that needs an immediate reply .... just call me 909-948-2448. The Senior Center is a beautiful complex .... with many activities offered to folk my age. They offer lunch each day for $3....there is always something going on. In their monthly newsletter, I read that there was a Christmas talent show....I called to put my name in and asked if I would be able to sing sacred songs....cause I'm not into Santa Claus . I was told I could sing anything. I was so excited as I sang my song, "Jesus is the Reason for the Season"....they began to clap and sing along....stood up and swayed with the music....and it was wonderful! The director asked me to return a few days later to sing for the VIP luncheon, as well as the instructor of the Zumba (a new kind of exercise dance .... you have perhaps seen on a TV infomercial). She asked me to come to her class and sing the same song....so God is always faithful to open doors for me to sing about Him....and I'm lovin' it. One of the favorite things I love to do is minister in convalecent and rest homes....what a privilege I had this month to do that. A group known for their evangelism asked me to accompany them. What a blessing!....there were lots of folk who came in their wheelchairs to hear about God's great gift to this world...Jesus...and that He came for each of them. I sang songs that they could sing along with....and I could tell....they were happy. Matthew 25:40 - and the King will answer and say, assuredly I say to you, in as much as you did it to the least of these, you did it unto Me.

It was great to hear that my sister from Las Vegas was coming to visit with her two sons to the LA area, and that I could spend Christmas with them....what a wonderful day! The tree....the gifts....being with family....of course....the food....and I'm talking food....good food....the "SOUL FOOD." My nephews are very good chefs. Wow! The weather was beautiful....so the tri-tip....as well as the ham....was cooked in the outside grill....yumm yumm. Each January there is a 21-day fast at my church....so I'm really looking forward to it....to get back into my regular way of eating. I have good memories of that Christmas Day .... spent lots of time playing bingo with my nephew's children .... and scrabble (which I like to play). This photo is one I will cherish.
I've been ministering in prisons for at least 40 years. What an opportunity to speak/sing at Soledad Prison as well as Corcoran, Folsom, Chino and many more. Since I have been living in Southern California, I have regularly ministered at Chino Prison for Women .... it's a blessing for me to see how "free" many of the ladies are .... even though locked up .... because they have Jesus in their hearts....and that is the key, isn't it? Even on the outside....you can be in much bondage. I received a call from one of the chaplains who regularly ministers in Chino Prison asking if I would come minister in a service he has once a month in San Bernardino for Christians who are newly released from prison. He wants to make sure they are connected to a church family....to get any help they need....getting a job....a place to stay, etc. Well, I was happy to go....it was a blessing again for me to be a part of that service....I heard inspiring testimonies, good music and a powerful message. I'm looking forward to returning on a regular basis. I also felt that I should go to my closet and look at all the things I had not worn in a year (if you have not worn it in a year....you probably won't....that's my motto). I was able to take some nice things for the ladies....I even called some of my friends....asked them if they would do the same and bring the bags to church on Sunday....they did, so my car was filled with bags....and my heart was so touched as I saw the ladies looking at the clothes, seeing what they could wear. It was a Happy Day! It feels good to know that we can meet needs in their lives. Please help me pray for the "Touch of Love Ministries" as Pastor Ashley and Mitchell continue to reach out to all who are in need. Psalms 107:14 - He brought them out of darkness and the deepest gloom and broke away thier chains. We do not know what the future holds, but we know the one who holds the future. Our Heavenly Father watches over us and is concerned about every detail of our lives. Aren't you glad about that? We simply need to trust Him. Psalms 46:1-2 - God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the midst of the sea. My praise report for 2010, is that my God has been faithful to meet every need in my life....He gave me an assignment 32 years ago to leave the phone company and travel full-time....to speak and sing about His love and grace....I have done that....God has made so many of you a blessing to me....thanks for your gifts of love to the Ministry. And when you give, you will receive a tax-deductible receipt. Of course, it will be added to your account in glory. Thanks so much for investing in this Ministry; it is good ground. I love getting e-mails .... notes .... letters .... and phone calls from you .... so keep them coming. Hebrews 10:23 - Let us hold fast to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful. As I close this letter, may I remind you again....whatever the problem is you are facing....why not just hand it over to God in prayer....as you meditate on the promises that are found in His Word. You will be strengthened as you believe and rest in those promises. I pray for all who will read this newsletter. Psalms 119:89 - Forever, Oh Lord, Your Word is settled in Heaven. See ya next time.....
