January 2012 I have always looked forward to a New Year....I love the resolutions I make. Acts 20:24 - I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me - the task of testifying to the Gospel of God's Grace. I know that God has given me an "assignment" and I have been traveling for 34 years now in full-time ministry. WOW! It is wonderful to minister in a church....seniors group .... a women's function .... speaking and singing about Jesus. I love doing that. If you want me to come to your church or your group, just call me...909-948-2448. I began the New Year ministering in Chino Women's Prison. I have ministered there for a few years. When I first began to go....I would always be sad when I returned home....there was just something about seeing all those women locked up....knowing that someone else was caring for their children...that really effected me, but this time was different. I could sense a spirit of revival....there was incredible praise and worship time. I heard testimonies from two ladies....one had been in 15 years....her case had been reviewed by a law student....his findings were that she had been locked up longer than she should have been. The other had been there for 8 years....now get this....her case was also reviewed by a different law student....his discovery ....was that she should be released....and they were...the papers were signed, sealed and delivered for their release....Praise God! They are now with family and friends in their community. When I sang "His Eye is on the Sparrow"....the chorus says "I sing because I am free"....and I was able to share with them how one can be incarcerated....and be free in Jesus ....because the Bible says "Whom the Son sets free is free indeed." I mentioned to them about folk I know who are not in prison but are free....freedom is only from Jesus whether in prison or not. The Chaplain asked me to come on a regular basis now....which I am happy to do....I am already looking forward to my next time there. Thank you for praying for those precious ladies. Matthew 25:40 - The King will reply, I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these, you did it for Me.
One of my favorite artists, Mark Lowry....from the Gaither videos was in town for two appearances....what a blessing for me that he asked if I would sing a song at each of them. I think his voice is wonderful....he is a good singer, as well as a comedian

What a wonderful 3 days in beautiful San Diego I had. I was attending a church conference. San Diego has almost perfect weather....we were in a hotel right on the water. Each message was challenging....and the fellowship with old friends made for a very special time. Psalms 133:1 - How good and pleasant it is, for brethren to dwell together in unity. I shared in September that my long-time friend, Vineta, was celebrating her 91st birthday. I drove to the small town of Pahrump....(an hour before Vegas)....On Christmas Eve we talked on the phone. She told me her heart was hurting and that she wanted to prop herself up in bed.....telling me she felt better....but then passed away three hours later. I wanted to do a memorial service for her....she was well-known in the town. It was a special time to have her bingo buddies show up. I gave an opportunity for those present to reflect on her life....we heard funny stories about her....I was able to sing some of her favorite old songs. I am so glad that God brought her into my life 36 years ago. I shall miss her....but we will spend eternity together.
I know heaven is real....I know that hell is real....because it's in the Bible. So, each day I am trying to ask folk I come in contact with...."do you really know where you will spend eternity?"....I have been getting some very interesting answers. Hebrews 9:27 - And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment. Actually, this should be the winter season, but here we are in the 80's....California seems to know no season....it kinda all runs together. In our lives, we know there will seasons of trial, heartache....but we do have the assurance of God's Word....that "there is a time for everything"....and as I often say "it came to pass." God's Grace is sufficient for everything you are facing. Remember whatever season you are in now....it is trust in Him that will get us through. Even though we will be blessed in 2012....we do not know how many severe storms we will have....but this one thing we can know, is that Jesus will be with us in each of them....and He will say "Peace be still." I Peter 5:10 - And the God of all Grace, who called you to His eternal Glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. Of course I think of God's faithfulness the past year....and I am excited to see what He has planned for the new one. My desire for 2012 is that I will strive for obedience in all that God asks of me....I want to be at the right place at the right time to proclaim Jesus Christ to the World.
