February 2011

Time keeps slipping away....and yes, very fast. Here we are already through the second month of 2011. And I do praise God for all of the opportunities He gives me to go from place to place with the "Good News."  I can only call it what it is, "an assignment" God gave me nearly 33 years ago when I "hung up" on Ma Bell after working 22 years (I was working for my 30-year retirement....but God had other plans for me)....and it has been my pleasure to work for Him.

He gave me, as a little girl, a wonderful gift of singing....and yes, I am well aware, that I do not have the most beautiful or greatest voice, but I just do what I do....and God uses what He gave me to minister to hearts and lives.....all over the world. This is my life and I want to continue to work for Jesus Christ....speaking and singing for Him.

Acts 20:24 - But life (Lillie's life) is worth nothing unless it is used for the work assigned me....telling others the "Good News" about God's grace and kindness.

I love when I am able to attend the regular Hymn Sing held in Palm Desert (near Palm Springs) the second Tuesday of each month. What a wonderful evening....there are almost always 200 people present (even in the summer months). What a joy to gather and sing the glorious hymns of the church (since it is difficult to hear them in our churches anymore ), but we sing them....and if you find yourself in the desert at that time of the month, please join us. It is held at the Presbyterian Church on Hwy 74....or just call me and I will direct you.....you will certainly be blessed.

Ephesians 5:19 - Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to The Lord.

I was in a strip mall to go into a yogurt shop....and there was a huge crowd inside and outside....I wasn't sure what was going on....as I got closer, I noticed alot of kids....as I looked inside....I saw a strange looking character. "Who is that?" I asked....the answer came back from many voices in unison, "That's Sponge Bob!" I still can't believe I asked this next question, "Who is Sponge Bob?" I learned he is from a cartoon TV Show. I thought he was cute.....so I stood in line with all the other little kids to have my photo taken with him....cute, huh? I then, of course went to the computer to read about him....he seems to be a nice enough guy .

It was a joy to be reunited with an old friend this month....I sang for a luncheon....she was the speaker. I met her years ago when I was booked to appear on the 700 Club....Jackie Yockey was the guest coordinator for the show. God has moved her to another area of ministry. She is President of High Adventure, reaching out and working with Israel through radio.

Jackie Yockey and Ms. Lillie

I trust that you are doing well and enjoying all that God has for you....I pray that you will forever be reminded that we serve a faithful God....who is always looking after our needs....He promised. And listen....if you have had trouble trusting Him....let this be the year that you will not fail to lean on God's Word when deep trouble comes....and things seem to be falling apart, just remember God is there.

Isaiah 41:10 - "Don't be afriad, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will uphold you with my Victorious Right Hand."

I am so grateful for my friends....my heart is filled with warmth and love when I think of how many of you have supported me through these years with your finances....God has made you a blessing to me and for you who tell me that you pray for me on a regular basis. How can I say thanks for that kind of commitment? Please don't stop! And if you choose to give to this ministry, you will receive a tax-deductible receipt.

When you are looking and planning your schedule for the year....for your Senior's Function, Ladies Luncheon, Tea Party, or even to sing in your church, please call me (909-948-2448). We will all have a good time....you will not be disappointed.

Phil 3:20 - For our citizenship is in Heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, The Lord Jesus Christ.

See ya next time.....
Happy to be His Handmaiden,
