May 2010

Greetings in the Precious Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

This month of May began with me attending a meeting on the National Day of Prayer....I trust you were able to attend one also. There was much time spent praying for our country, asking God to "heal our land." I reflected on the memory of my being asked by Dr. James & Shirley Dobson to be a part of the 2009 National Day of Prayer in Washington DC. I shall never forget what it was like....I even co-wrote a song and sang it that day....the song is "Heal Our Land" and is on my latest release.

We believe God does hear as we ferverently pray. We need His mercy.

II Chron. 7:14 - If my people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My Face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

My Christian friends are telling how they are crying out to God asking for His protection, wisdom, guidance and mercy in these difficult days we are living. I personally believe that impending judgment is coming to this earth even more than we are already seeing....and we must be prepared. On the other hand, there is joy because we know that the end is near and we need to share Jesus with everyone we encounter, telling them....He is the Answer. We don't want them to spend Eternity in Hell. Think about it!

Romans 13:11 - Understanding the present time, the hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.

I am thankful to God for all His special blessings....as I have traveled here and there....He has worked in me and I feel through me. Each day, I thank God for the "assignment" He gave me nearly 32 years ago to carry the "Good News" through song. I am so glad I was able to "hang up on Ma Bell" after working 22 years. God has proven to be faithful.

Acts 20:24 - for life (Lillie's life) is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me........

What a great fellowship I was part of in the mountains....I was invited to be speaker/singer. There were over 100 ladies....they meet on a regular basis. What a lovely setting....in fact it is 4,000 feet up. I loved being there. How exciting to me to see how God touched hearts and lives through the ministry that day.

Rev. 3:20 - Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.

Another joyous opportunity was given to me....to share for a Mother's Day luncheon. God gave me a great message about three mothers in the Bible....Jochebed, the mother of Moses....Hannah, Samuel's mother, and Mary....the mother of Jesus. Each gave their sons back "to God" as they realized they had only been "loaned" to them. I encouraged the Mothers that day....to give the destiny of their children totally to God ....what a great time of ministry.

Proverbs 22:6 - Train up a child in the way that he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

I heard about a ministry called Stonecroft....meetings that occur each month all over the world. Ladies are invited to attend a luncheon....hear a speaker/singer and are invited to give their lives to Jesus. In 2002, I asked if I might come sing for them....I was able to go all over to sing a secular song, then a gospel song before the speaker. It really was a great time for me. Finally, I was asked if I would like to become a speaker....I listened to many speakers for two years....I knew I did not have the kind of testimony I had been hearing....for I was raised in a loving Christian home....accepted Jesus as a young girl....I thought to myself "Would that be a great message?' Well, the Speaker Review Team asked me....why not choose a topic that could be centered around my life in music?....they worked with me and August 2004 was my first talk. Now, nearly six years later, I am still traveling all over to speak and sing for Christian Women's Connections. Recently I went to Washington State for four such meetings....I grew up in Seattle....so it was good to be back in that most beautiful state. Each meeting was a great one. I thank God for Stonecroft Ministries who saw the need for these gatherings and I am grateful to God for all the ladies who, through the years, have become born-again Christians.

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that He sent His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.

One of the exciting happenings in my life occurred in the early '70's .... the place .... Melodyland .... it was located across from Disneyland in California. Wonderful Charismatic confer- ences were held regularly with well-known speakers coming in. There was, on a regular basis .... incredible productions presented. I was blessed to be a part of some of them.

One of the most memorable plays was entitled "The Touch Felt 'Round The World" .... it was beautifully staged....with Andrae Crouch playing the part of Brother Seymour....a humble black Minister who led those meetings. The play depicted the true story of the Azuza Revival in 1906 in Los Angeles. And how the Holy Spirit was poured out during this three-year revival. Folk came from all over the world to "see" and "experience" The Power of The Lord. Many were filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of "speaking in tongues." It is a powerful play....of course, the cast was dressed as they would have been dressed in those years.

By the way....for those of you who have heard me sing "The Comforter Has Come"....it was first introduced in that drama in 1976. I was living in San Jose, sang in Southern California in a meeting with the Pastor Ralph Wilkerson as speaker....he said "you need to come sing at Melodyland" .... well, you can just imagine how excited I was to hear those words....as that has been a desire of my heart. God knew....and He let it happen. I was told by the Music Minister that he had written a play....there was a song that had to be included.... he had been trying to find someone to sing it....had not been able to settle on anyone....asked if I would like to sing "The Comforter Has Come"?.... letting me know, however, that all of the orchestra charts had been written....so I would have to sing it in that key. Listen to this, wouldn't you know....God had planned from the foundation of the world that I would be singing that song....He also, of course, knew what key I needed it to be in....and it was "my key."

Psalms 139:16 - ....Your eyes saw my unformed body, all the days ordained for me were written in Your book....before one of them came to be.

Here it is 2010, I have been singing that great old hymn of the church, done in such an exciting arrangement for 34 years....I am asked to sing it often....some say it is my "My Signature Song." So on Pentecost Sunday this year, May 23....I was asked to sing it. A church invited me to be part of an illustrated sermon about that Upper Room Experience as described in Acts 2....with Peter's message saying "we are not drunk as you suppose, but this is that which is prophesied by the Prophet Joel." Following Peter's message, I sang "The Comforter Has Come"....it was soooooooo exciting. The chorus says "we've got to spread the tidings round, wherever man is found" and tell them (whatever they are facing in life)....the Good News is that The Comforter Has Come."

John 14:26 - But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My Name will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

I don't know what you are facing....but let me encourage you, no matter the circumstance....we do have a God who cares for us and will never leave us or forsake us....He said so in His word, and not only....will the Holy Spirit come along side us to lead and guide, but he will also be within.

Psalm 32:7 - You are my hiding place, You will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.

Please check my Tour page and if I am in your area, I would love to have you come to my service. It will be great to meet you, greet you, get and give a hug. I am thankful that you are in my life....some of you I have never met....others I have known for a short time.....many I have known for a L O N G time, and you are all very special to me. Thanks for all your prayers and gifts of love for this Ministry .... you will receive a tax-deductible receipt, but most of all, it will be added to your account in Glory.

II Peter 3:13 - In keeping with His promise, we are looking forward to a new heaven and earth, the home of righteousness.

Call me any time, 909-948-2448....I don't do computer....I just talk on the phone. May God's richest blessings be poured out on your life and .... and His Glory surround you as you labor for Him.

II Thes.3:16 - Now may the Lord of Peace Himself, give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with you all.

See ya next time.....

Happy to be His Handmaiden,
